We are extremely excited to be able to announce that we are now stockists of the amazing Osmo range of oils. We’ve used this oil for a long time here in the workshop, for the commercial work we do in shop fits, and also on the garden furniture, industrial kits and reclaimed boards that we sell. The finish is amazing, it brings out the true glory of the boards, and highlights the grain and detail that we all love to see in the wood.
So we are now super proud to be able to sell the product to our customers so that they too can use the same oil that we do, in their own projects.
The Osmo oil is available in a range of different finishes and we also stock the “tints” range if you are looking to add a bit of a colour to your wood. Our personal favourite is the matt oil, and that’s what we mainly use here in the workshop, but we stock the main range for you to choose from.
As usual, we are on hand to give any help and advice that you may need when it comes to choosing the right oil and any information you may need when it comes to application and what tools you may need for the job. We hope you love the product as much as we do.
Care for your wooden floor
Wooden flooring feels warm, is hard-wearing and low-maintenance. To retain these exceptional properties of natural wood for a long time, wooden flooring is preferably treated with Polyx®-Oil from Osmo. Polyx®-Oils repel dirt and protect wood permanently. At the same time, they allow the wood to breathe and feel great. A further advantage: maintenance is simple. With very little effort, you can maintain your wooden flooring over generations. If necessary, you can even re-oil and partially renovate flooring without sanding.
What to do:
- star_borderUse mats at the outside of entrance doors to prevent unwanted dirt and grit being carried on your boots and shoes. In addition to this, it is no harm using interior door mats for the same purpose, you might even want to consider a built in matwell at your main entrance.
- star_borderDry clean with the green Dust-Mop from the Osmo Opti-Set on a regular basis to prevent the build up of any dust or lint on the surface of the floor.
- star_borderDamp clean with Osmo Spray-Mop which makes it really easy. The cleaning concentrate (Spray-Fix) effectively removes dirt without wear of treatment.
- star_borderBe cautious when moving heavy objects such as electrical appliances and furniture. Always make sure you lift and never push or drag. If you cannot lift, slide a blanket or carpet under the objects to prevent scratching and gouging.
- star_borderUse floor protectors on the legs of furniture to avoid scraping or scratching. If your furniture has floor casters make sure that they are of the wide variety. If they are of the narrow metal variety, there are special plastic and velvet cups that can be used underneath.
- star_borderBe quick to wipe up water, wine, coffee and other spillages when accidents happen. Pets can sometimes have accidents too and if for example you are house training a puppy, do not allow him to do his business on the floor - if you have such an occurrence, clean it up immediately!
What not to do:
- star_borderDon't allow any water or liquids to sit on the floor for prolonged lengths of time. Even when cleaning only use a slightly damp mop, sponge or cloth.
- star_borderDon't allow stiletto heels, spiked shoes such as golf shoes or football boots, or any foot wear with steel tips onto your floor as they will most definitely damage it.
- star_borderDon't use all-purpose cleaning products that may contain bleach, chlorine, ammonia or any powder type abrasive cleaners.
- star_borderDon't use any spray polishes or furniture wax as they will only make your floor slippy and build up excess on the surface of the wood which can pick up dirt and grit easily.
- star_borderDon't steam clean the floor because the moisture may seep in between the gaps of the wood and cause it to warp.
